Arrests, charges in September 8th Airport Parkway incident

Three men will be charged after acts of vandalism and mischief on the Airport Parkway that targeted at least two taxi cabs.

On September 8th the Ottawa Police Service received multiple reports of vandalism in the area of the Airport Parkway, including an event captured in a video posted to YouTube.

Three (3) suspects were identified and East District Investigators have arrested three men today.

They each face once count of Mischief Over $5000 and Possession Weapons Dangerous.

The individuals will be formally charged when they appear in court tomorrow.

Their identities will be released at that time.

East District Investigators continue to collect evidence on this incident and other incidents of vandalism or mischief reported relating to a labour dispute involving airport taxi drivers.

“Our officers have been working with all those involved in the labour dispute to ensure public safety,” said Chief Charles Bordeleau. “Any incidents of violence will not be tolerated and are fully investigated. People will be held responsible for their actions.”
