1000 Islands Harbor Hotel grooves into autumn as the official hotel sponsor of the Clayton Jazz Festival: Jazz on the River


The annual Clayton Jazz Festival: Jazz on the River is back for its second year and has named the AAA Four Diamond 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel as its official hotel sponsor. From Friday, Sept. 25 through Sunday, Sept. 27, visitors from far and wide will head to the Thousand Islands to groove to the beats of acclaimed jazz acts including Fritzel’s New Orleans Jazz Band and Watertown-based group The Arrhythmias. Out-of-town guests and local residents alike can escape to the sound of music with 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel’s Festival Package, including overnight accommodations, a $30 breakfast voucher for two and two tickets to the Fritzel’s performance on Sept. 26. Package rates start at $299 based on double occupancy.

Jazz aficionados can also try their luck by entering 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel’s Facebook contest. Contestants simply fill out a participation form to enter. One lucky winner will receive an overnight stay, two tickets to Fritzel’s Saturday performance and breakfast for two. Entries can be made at www.facebook.com/1000islandsharborhotel. A winner will be selected on Friday, Sept. 11.

Festival performances will be held at the Clayton Depot Pavilion overlooking the St. Lawrence River, at select cafes and pubs throughout town, and at the Clayton Opera House, where Fritzel’s New Orleans Jazz Band will showcase their tunes on Saturday starting at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for this performance range from $25-$40 per person and all other performances are free. 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel will also host a performance by The Brighton Beat, a New York City-based Afrobeat band, on Friday, Sept. 25 from 4-6 p.m. For schedule updates or to learn more about the Clayton Jazz Festival: Jazz on the River, visit www.claytonjazzfest.com.
